What a weekend

June 7th

It rained the whole weekend with a few hours of sunshine. Tamara and the little girls came to visit. They spent most of the day with us. The last time the kids were with us they spent the night and Papa and Nana had to spoil them by taking them to Chuck E Cheese Pizza, so the first words out of their mouth were "can we go to Chuck E Cheese". Grand parents can train their grandchildren without even realizing it. They were disappointed , and we saw the error of our ways, from now on I'm sure their question will be the first words out of their mouths. Let that be a lesson spoiling can backfire.

After spending the day with two buzzie little girls and their Mom to help we wonder how we ever raised 7 children. I guess our chilcren used up all the energy I had. I crash now when the grand kids go home. All my friends say the same thing when their grand kids go home. Our family reunion is in three weeks. I will probably die when it's all done, but I will die with a huge smile on my face and a happy heart. Nothing is a wonderful as a grand child! All you parents don't sell your children when they become a big pain in the !, when they get married they will give you grand children, than you will know it was worth it all.

We have five green tomatoes already and soon we will have little snow peas. Dad has always wanted to farm so the garden is his little farm.

I'm trying to figure out how to put pictures on my blog but I never have time when I decide to post. One of these days it will happen.

May 29th

The weeks go by too fast. The last day of May always brings the allergy season for me, thank goodness for air conditioning.

Last week end the kids from Salt Lake came to visit. Our grand-daughter is doing a school report on Idaho, so we went up to the Capitol to take some pictures and strolled through the
Saturday
market. It was one of the hottest days of the year so far. The little kids played in the water fountain in the market square in their street clothes but they didn't care, they were having fun. The grownups found shade and relaxed while the kids wore themselves out. A perfect afternoon.

June 26th is the Ashby reunion at Lagoon. We are all looking forward to visiting, eating, going on the rides and having a great time together. Some of the family we haven't seen in years. My camera is ready to capture all the fun.!!!!

Who says old dogs can't learn new tricks. I just created my first blog! Hopefully we can keep in touch with the whole family through our blog. There is always something going on around our place, and since most of the family lives far and near I just became the family news spreader.

Boise is lovely this time of year (between the storms). We've already planted a number of things in our garden. Yesterday Dad took some plants out of the greenhouse to get some sun, when he came home from work the birds had plucked several of the plants right out of the pots. I guess that's why we have a green house. I think we will learn to use it more wisely. I think bird seed is a lot cheaper.

Jay is going on a Father and Son camp out this weekend. I think it's an excuse to get out of the house and act like a mountain man, since all the sons are grown and moved away.
